Quest Ministries will host the Veritas Conference that seeks to equip people on Christian Apologetics and Worldview issues.  This year we are pleased to have retired Police Officer and Detective J. Warner Wallace as our speaker.  Wallace was a police officer for 25 years in Southern California.  For the past 16 years, Wallace worked as a homicide detective and most recently he worked as a Cold-Case Homicide Detective. He retired from the police force in 2014.   During his years as a homicide Cold-Case Detective he solved some notorious cases which allowed him and his cases to be featured on Dateline NBC, Court TV, and Fox News.   For many years, he rejected all faith systems and saw himself as an atheist.  At age 35, he began to explore the claims of Christianity after he heard a pastor's sermon while attending Church with his wife.   For Jim, Jesus was a historical figure but the sermons presented a different picture of Him than what he imagined.   This prompted him to explore more.  He then purchased a $6.00 Bible which began his cold-case investigation of the scriptures.

As Wallace states; "I was an atheist for 35 years.  I was passionate in my opposition to Christianity, and I enjoyed debating my Christian friends.  I seldom found them to be prepared to defend what they believed.  I became a Police Officer and eventually advanced to Detective.  Along the way, I developed a healthy respect for the role of evidence in discerning truth, and my profession gave me ample opportunity to press into practice what I learned about the nature and power of evidence.  Throughout all of this, I remained an "angry atheist", hostile to Christianity and largely dismissive of Christians.
But if I am honest with you, I'll have to admit that I never took the time to examine the evidence for the Christian Worldview without the bias and presupposition of naturalism.  I never gave the case for Christianity a fair shake.  When I finally examined the evidence fairly, I found it difficult to deny, especially if I hoped to retain my respect for the way evidence is utilized to determine truth.  I found the evidence for Christianity to be convincing."

Books Authored by J. Warner Wallace

During this faith journey, Wallace applied the principles of a homicide detective to evaluate the claims contained in the Bible and is now a nationally recognized author and apologist.   He aspires to educate people on how they can become Christian Case-Makers.  He teaches people basic skills on using the investigative principles he used for 16 years as a police officer and detective to Christianity and Biblical claims.   He is a widely sought after speaker across North America at Apologetic Conferences,    J. Warner has written three books.
